Valentine's Gala

February 11th,2012 |
The community
helped to raise over $42,000 to finish the 2011 Lights for
Health Campaign in support of the Northside/Harbourview Hospital
Foundation. Proceeds from this year's event will be used
to purchase a Navigator GPS Control Unit- $46,000 - This
equipment will be a major advance for patient care as it will
allow surgeons to remove specific lymph nodes in cancer
treatment without performing a full lymph node removal. This
will significantly reduce the pain and risk for the patient.
In honor of his retirement, CEO John Malcom "threw the switch"
to illuminate the decorations. Mayor John Morgan attended
to offer his congratulations to the Founation.
It was a wonderful year as the Foundation was proud to add four
new sculptures to the display. Four 7 foot high snowmen
now illuminate the lawn and join the other sculptures that add
an uplifting atmosphere to those visiting the hospital over
Christmas.
Congratulation to Harold Marsh of Millcreek, winner of the 2011 Thunder in the Highlands Motorcycle Draw.
